the magic of snow

Before the next expected Christmas snow fall, I had to post pics of what magic the first snow of the season was for Daphne last week (I have always loved our kitchen window, but I am a little obsessed with it now that we have a toddler).

"Gasp"... "Look outside!"
"Is snow-weeen!"

another successful santa

When Santa came to our Christmas Eve party last year, Daphne was not the biggest fan.
She does fine with Santa Clause in public places... but she is NOT ok with him in the private of our home. At least as of one year ago.

But, last year when she got to see Santa, she did fine- in public.
And, she did fine this year as well. She might not look happy, but she loved it...
She did refuse to smile the whole time, but I promise she was happy.
She refused to look at Santa, but she loved him so much.

When she got down from his lap, she was given a present, but all she wanted was "Santa again? Santa again?". She could have cared less about her present! I can't wait to see how it will go when Santa visits our Christmas Eve party at Grandma and Poppa's this year. Promise I will post pictures! :-)

Merry Christmas... or as Daphne says, "Ho, ho, Ho, CHRISTMAS!"

happy halloween

I hope that your halloween is happier than Lily's... Don't worry, she wasn't really hurt at all... but it does show you why little kids don't baby-sit!

Hope you have a wonderful Halloween and get to give out/get a lot of candy (if that is your thing) :-)

camp out 2010

Before it got cold, we decided to have a camp out in the back of Momma and Poppa's yard (in case things didn't go well, then we could come inside). It worked beautifully and I think we're all just waiting till it gets warm enough again to do it all over! Here are some fun pics!

Lily and Audrey played with us too (Audrey unfortunately didn't get pictured).
Don't you love that Daphne's belly is sticking out. She just can't help that thing!

Flashlights, s'mores, banana boats and Poppa reading by the campfire. Ahhh... perfect.

let your ears flap in the wind

Before summer is officially gone, this pic was just too classic not to publish. Enjoy!
Both girls with their "ears" flapping in the wind!

Like mother, like daughter

Daphne at 18 mo.
Kelly at 18 mo. (same dress, thanks to Grandma Dough's safe keeping- and Bridget's awesome comparison pic idea).
She is my girl (except the eyes), don't you think?

working on it

" Say, CHEESE"...
"Well, show me your teeth smile."

"A little less like that..."
"Another try for the 'teeth' smile."
Ahhh... now we're talking.

fallen soldier

This is not staged... sometimes the house really does look like a battlefield at the end of the day.
Poor monkey.

dog days of summer?

I can not believe that there is a phrase like this. Even though we have seen 100+F days this summer, I do not feel like there are "dog days" in the summer.
We have had a wonderful summer and here are a few too many of the same pics- but I can't choose which to post, so I posted 10 of my favorite from over 100 of the same day. Yes, the digital era is a bit crazy I suppose.
These are over a month old, so sorry for the delay- ENJOY! (we only thought to take these pics because Erin took some awesome pics of Emmett and we loved how they turned out and re-did the same thing with Daph. We're obsessed with how great they turned out!)
Also, this was one of my dresses when I was younger.

Daphne is in a constant state of motion... she is even climbing the walls here and she insisted on holding rocks that she collected in our short, 50 foot walk to the photo op., the entire shoot.
Hope you're enjoying the last few weeks of summer! Build up the memories so you can live off them when the days are way too short!
