Daphne Extravaganza

If anyone knows Daphne's Poppa Dough, they realize that he can find ANYTHING on e-bay. When Daphne joined the Dougherty clan, he got online and purchased clothes for the whole family- Bobby, Daphne and I- from Daphne (Alabama).

Little Miss just grew into her onesie, so we could finally take a picture of all of us in our gear.

Daphne and I have Daphne cross country shirts and Bobby has a Daphne Basketball shirt. It's pretty awesome! I have to also mention that he also bought a Daphne Barbie doll from Scobby Doo and a honorary sheriff's badge from Daphne Alabama. No one can argue that he does enjoy his hobbies :-)

Thanks Poppa!

six months

Six months ago today, we were blessed to meet Daphne Jane for the first time.

I never could have imaged how much my life would change on the day she was born, but it has in so many very wonderful ways.

The memory of 32 hours of labor have melted away, after all of the time that has lapsed over these last 6 months.

I know we were told that time would go so fast, but feel so long simultaneously, but until I experienced these last 6 months for my self, I didn't believe it.

Our family is so much richer now that she is in our lives. I just feel very blessed today. If half a year can change our family so much, I can hardly wait to see how things will unfold in our future!

Bathing Beauty: Part 1

I can't let anymore of the summer go by without letting you all enjoy Daphne and her swim attire.

This is the most frequently worn suit now because she is quickly outgrowing her other suits.

I took the pictures below on Memorial day weekend for her first swim. She outgrew this suit already! It was mine when I was little... now it is Audrey's.

This was her first time in a pool! Thank goodness she liked it!

These are from Charlie's 2nd birthday party. I love the beads of water on her face... she just looks like summer in these shots.

My sweet little summer girl, please note her tu-tu suit, yes it has flowers on it and it is NOT too girlie, thank you very much!

food, glorious food!

Considering the 4th of July is a typical day of feasting for adults, it was only fair to feed Daphne her first meal (of rice cereal) on the holiday weekend.

I think that little Miss looks so much like a Dougherty baby in this picture!! It's crazy!

It's safe to say, she's glad to be entering the "eating" world.

Verdict is in, "Daphne likes it!".

life is good

Daphne can't for a second say that she doesn't have things around her to keep her entertained.

Here is Daphne during a typical morning wake up play date with herself.

Don't you just love that she is surrounded by so many toys, some are actually draped over her.

"What, don't judge me because I have it good."

Making Barry Proud

Although these are a "few" months old, these pictures of the belly have to be shown simultaneously with these new pics of Miss Daphne.

I definitely exploited Daphne from the womb to help get votes for our President.

So, it's only to be expected that an "Obama Mama" should have an "Obama Baby."

SO, in the spirit of the upcoming 4th of July- here's a little something to make you proud to be an American :-)

Thanks to Janie and Dave Minn for this awesome onesie.

If only Barry was a reader, I think he'd enjoy these shots! But, I guess he has a few other things to deal with so I can't be too disappointed.

ALWAYS wear your bloomers

As a little girl, it's important to remember to always wear your bloomers...

... because you never want to be caught without them!

Someone just might catch you with your pants down (or skirt up)!!

It should be noted that little Miss is sleeping UNSWADDLED! We are officially a swaddle-free zone with full sleeping nights. Holy smakeroly, I had forgotten how nice it is to get 8 straight hours of sleep.
